Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 – Using Templates

Here is a simple way to get started with DSA by using templates. Templates are a big hit with busy women because it allows them to quickly create a scrapbooking page by dragging and dropping their photograph on a pre-designed page. If you have any questions, please feel free to place them in the comment section. Enjoy and have fun!

Andrea, first, apologies for this late response.

Are the templates created by Photoshop? Those files will have a .psd extension. If they are from Photoshop, you won’t be able to use them within DSA 2. If they are a .jpg or .png file, you can still use them.

Depending on if it looks like a digital page with empty areas for your photos, here’s what you can do:

Bring up the template. Import whatever photos you want to use. Drag your photos from the Photo tab in DSA 2 to the template and place the photo in the blank area provided.

While the photo is highlighted, go to the toolbar, click on “Arrange” and “Order Items.” Send the photo to the back so it’s under the template.

Hopefully that will allow you to work with the template. If it is a .jpg or .png image, you should be able to add text and more embellishments as you’d like. You can resize the photos by grabbing the handles on the corners, hold down your mouse button, and move inward or outward to decrease or increase the size.

Hope that helped!
